De Kroon

Order a draught Stella at Lommel’s oldest and smallest pub, right on Marktplein and ringed by terraces. Café De Kroon has been a traditional local pub for over a century and boasts a delightful authentic interior. Here, history literally drips from the beer taps.

In 1902, Jozef Van Engeland and Maria Lavreysen opened a grocer’s and pub in this charming little building. They were followed by their son and daughter. After that, Chris Liesens and Rita Bullen ran it for years before passing the torch on to the current owners 110 years after the pub first opened: Patrick and Bart Sevens. Walking into the pub now, it looks much as it did years ago. Friday evenings bring in regulars, amateur cyclists, market shoppers and young people.
